Disney has revealed delays to 2022’s Marvel films and the 5th Indiana Jones movie, all of which have been moved back until later in the year or delayed until 2023.

Marvel movie shifts are the usual chain reaction delay: Marvel shifting of the movie is the common chain reaction delays in which pushing back one movie , you have to push back all the others and so there’s an effect of domino that pushes everything back by a little

  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shifting from March 25th, 2022 until May 6th (when Thor: Love and Thunder was initially planned to release).
  • Thor Love and Thunder is, in turn, moved from May 6th until the 8th of July (when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was originally set to be released).
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released from July 8th until 11th November (when Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels was scheduled for).
  • The Marvels is scheduled to move from November 11th until February 17th, 2023 in the same year that Ant-Man along with The Wasp: Quantumania was initially scheduled.
  • Ant-Man as well as the Wasp: Quantumania is scheduled for release on July 28 2023. This will be the place in the “Untitled Marvel” film that Disney has yet to announce.

Other modifications also include Disney taking another unnamed Marvel film scheduled to be released on the 6th of October 2023 from its schedule completely and a third Untitled Marvel film getting moved by a week, between November 10th 2023 until November 3rd. Because Disney does not release Disney Plus release dates this early and it’s difficult to determine what tie-ins to its 2022 streaming programs will also be delayed to keep up with the new movie schedule. However, there are some changes also.

The schedule that is not changed for the moment is the rest of 2021’s Marvel schedule (which includes Eternals on November 5, Spider-Man: No Way Home on the 17th of December, along with Hawkeye, the Disney Plus series Hawkeye on the 24th of November). Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 will also keep the 5th of May 2023 as the date, in spite of the change of the other Marvel titles.

A more significant delay is also planned for the untitled five-film Indiana Jones film, which will be delayed nearly a year from the 29th of July 2022 to June 30, 2023, which is the latest delay for this James Mangold directed sequel initially scheduled for a release in 2021. Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as the main character alongside Phoebe waller-bridge as well as Mads Mikkelsen.

Based on Deadline the delays aren’t due to the concern about COVID-related boxes office figures or delays, instead, it’s due to the obvious explanation that the studio needs more time to complete the production of certain of its films in conjunction by the interdependent Marvel release strategy and the necessity to avoid conflicts with blockbusters from other studios.
