While the Viking-themed survival game Valheim is only playable from a fixed third-person perspective in the vanilla game, a new mod has been released by modder Brandon Mousseau that allows players to enjoy the game in VR. At the moment the mod doesn’t support motion controls, but one of Mousseau’s colleagues has confirmed that motion control functionality will be coming in a future update. You can view gameplay of the mod below.
The mod is completely free to download, which you can do here. It’s important to note that you’ll need a SteamVR-compatible headset and a considerably powerful PC in order to play Valheim in VR. Additionally, you can play with your friends (regardless of whether they’re also using the mod or not) while using this mod, as it’s designed to be completely co-op compatible.
Are you interested in trying out Valheim in VR? Will you be downloading the mod to give it a shot? Let me know. Valheim is available for $20 on Steam through Early Access.
