A successful trial run of the e-voting machine was conducted by the NIE under the supervision of the Science Minister. He noted that the machine is divided into two parts — the first contains the election symbols, and the second will be under the authority of the presiding officer who will switch the machine on for the voter to cast their vote.

The voter may choose and click on any of the election symbols in the polling booth.

The minister also observed that the machine is able to print ballot papers in addition to functioning as an e-voting device.
